The second episode of the new hit series Hot in Cleveland has Betty White’s character looking for love. Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White) who suddenly finds herself caring for three L.A. women is persuaded by Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) to call one of the three older gentlemen who gave her their phone numbers. Unsure of whom to call first Melanie helps Elka in her decision by having her describe the man she was attracted too most. Elka describes one as having two good hips, which according to Elka makes him sexy, another still has a great head of hair, while one can still drive at night. Melanie finally convinces her to just pick one and call. Elka discovers that Larry, one of the men, has died, she goes on the next and before long she is on a date, a double date with Melanie. We see Melanie with Elka sitting with two elderly gentlemen, Melanie’s man ha s an oxygen tank an doesn’t understand that no means no, because he doesn’t hear well.

Joy (Jane Leeves) fears the younger man she is attracted to may be her son, who she gave up for adoption in England. He told her he was born in England and his mother gave him up for adoption when he was born. Joy decides to collect some DNA from him to see if he could be her son. Sadly she finds out he is not when he explains to her he met his mother ten years ago. Joy sadden that he is not, begins searching the Internet to find him.

Wendle Malick who plays the character Victoria Chase is still dwelling over the fact that the soap opera she starred in was canceled. She begins shopping at a bulk food warehouse where people actually remember her and want her autograph. This leads her back to the warehouse many times to sign autographs and once again it makes her feel famous. Melanie and Joy plan an intervention to stop her from shopping to much.

The cast work wells together and Betty White is still in her prime for acting. Her character is witty and full of spunk.
