Los Angeles, Sep 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” host Conan O’Brien was injured when he was shooting a stunt for the show. O’Brien was hurt while he was running down a flight of stairs as part of a skit being taped for Friday night’s show.
He was immediately taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
The 46 year old O’Brien issued a statement through NBC that indicated he was treating the incident lightly and was joking like his usual self.
“Last thing I remember I was enjoying the play with Mrs. Lincoln, and the next thing I was aware of was being served cookies and juice,” O’Brien joked.
Taping for the Friday night’s “Tonight Show” with Friday’s scheduled guests Teri Hatcher and Seth MacFarlane was obviously postponed and a repeat episode of the show was aired instead.
The production house didn’t issue any comment on his medical condition and no reports were available that could reflect the seriousness of Conan’s head injury.
Conan O’Brien had taken over as the host of the show from Jay Leno in this June itself.
He rose to fame as the host of NBC’s show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 1993 to 2009. Prior to his hosting career, O’Brien was a writer for Saturday Night Live and the famous animated series The Simpsons.
He married Elizabeth Ann ‘Liza’ Powel in 2002 in Powel’s hometown of Seattle. O’Brien and Powel have a daughter Neve (born in 2003) and son Beckett (born in 2005).
