‘Hope for Haiti Now’ album is No.1 in 18 countries

New York, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hope for Haiti show was a huge hit, and now its album is claiming the No.1 spot on the iTunes chart in 18 countries. It is said to be the largest ever one-day album pre-order, in the entire history of the iTunes. The show organizers confirmed this record-making feat too. The Hope for Haiti Now show had raised around $57 million for the earthquake-ravaged nation.
The Hope for Haiti Now album includes songs by Madonna, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Timberlake amongst others. All the proceeds of the album will be given to Red Cross, United Nations World Food Program, Partners in Health, Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Yele Haiti Foundation, UNICEF and Oxfam America. The Canada version of the show had also managed to raise over $9 million. The $9 million will be given to nine non-profit groups like the Canadian Red Cross Society, Care Canada, Free the Children, Oxfam Canada, Oxfam Quebec, Plan Canada, Save the Children Canada, UNICEF Canada and World Vision Canada.
The album has 20 tracks and is priced at $7.99 And on the Internet, the individual tracks can be downloaded for just $0.99 per track.
