Hollyoaks star Loui Batley found lesbian role ‘weird’
September 26th, 2009 - 3:19 pm ICT by ANILondon, Sept 26 (ANI): ‘Hollyoaks’ star Loui Batley has said that it was weird playing a lesbian in the show.
The 22-year-old plays Sarah Barnes in the Channel 4 soap and has been locking lips with Lydia Hart, played by Lydia Kelly.
Although initially Loui enjoyed playing the role and found her lesbian scenes with Zoe Carpenter (Zoe Lister) “fun and silly”, but as the storyline became serious she found it strange.
“Zoe and I are good friends so we just got a bit giddy and kind of thought ‘this is just something we have to do. It’ll be a bit weird but it’s fine.’ It was kind of fun because it was just stupid,” the Sun quoted Loui as saying.
“But with Lydia it was more of a relationship, so that was a bit strange. But it’s not real life. It’s just something you have to do,” she added.
Loui, who is soon leaving the show, has played out her final scenes for late night show Hollyoaks Later.
In the dramatic episode, a skydive goes horribly wrong and viewers will see either Sarah or Zoe plunge to her death. (ANI)
