Aug 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In spite of the being the surprise finalist on the latest season of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, Holli Ugalde proved that she has what it takes to make it big on Tuesday. Jay Santoz gave tough fight to ensure the audience a roller coaster ride in the season finale. Host Gordon Ramsay ensured that his future chef at the Savoy Grille in London gives his/her best performance in the finale in spite of being taken away from their comfort zone. The two finalists were judged by 5 executive chefs from the UK. The finalists were first judged on 5 dishes by the judges who were flown in and then they were to serve the crowd that gathered at the Los Angeles restaurant’s roof.

Both Holli Ugalde and Jay Santoz showed some innovation in the Amuse Bouche round and served a Virgin Bloody Mary Shooter and Ice Cold Tomato Water respectively. In spite of winning the first round comfortably, the two finalists were tied with two wins each with the final an meat entree to be judged by one of the future bosses. Jay Santoz served a Kobe New York Strip and took the round to win the challenge. Gordon Ramsay now asked the finalists to prepare for the dinner service. Like the earlier seasons, the contestants who did not make it in the finale, were brought in and the two finalists were asked to choose their team.

Jay Santoz chose Benjamin, Fran and Jason and Holli Ugalde took Nilka and Autumn and had to take in Siobahn as well. The tumultuous dinner service was followed by host Gordon Ramsay’s final winner announcement. Underdog Holli Ugalde became the appointed chef of Gordon Ramsay for his London restaurant and the two finalists also won a trip to Australia.
