‘Hitchcock’ role came to Hopkins years ago
July 16th, 2012 - 3:42 pm ICT by IANSLos Angeles, July 16 (IANS) Actor Anthony Hopkins says that the offer to play legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock came to him several years ago.
The film is titled “Hitchcock”.
“It came along about seven or eight years ago with one director attached and then that fell apart. Then about a year ago my agent called and said, ‘Hitchcock’ is back’,” Total film magazine quoted Hopkins as saying.
“I met the director, Sacha Gervasi, and he seemed to have such unbridled enthusiasm about it that I said, ‘OK, let’s give it a whirl’.”
The 74-year-old also said: “I never pursue anything. I’m too lazy.”
