It is widely known that Hilary Swank is going to be acting out the role of Amelia Earhart in the bio pic “Amelia”. The movie is scheduled to be released on the 23rd of October 2009. The official theatrical trailer for the same has been released recently and is available online too. It is directed by Mira Nair and stars a host of big names From the Hollywood circle, like Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor and others, besides the Oscar winning Swank.

The biography chooses to shed some light on the life and abrupt disappearance of the famed aviatrix and even explore on screen the relationship between Amelia and her husband (enacted by Richard Gere). It should make for an interesting bio pic considering the fact that the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan has always been shrouded in mystery. So, we can hopefully expect some of those questions to be answered in the movie.

Earhart and Noonan had set off on the plane from Miami, Florida on June 1, 1937, traveling over the Pacific Ocean and since then had gone missing. Her disappearance is one of those questions that have always puzzled and intrigued people everywhere who cannot put the missing pieces of the puzzle together for the mystery.

Now, however, there is scope of some light to be shed on Amelia’s vanishing act. Tigher Inc. has been reportedly researching on the mystery and have found some remains of an American woman on an island in the Pacific. With the DNA obtained from Earhart’s direct descendant, the researchers hope to reach a conclusion soon as to whether it really was Amelia or not, very soon.
