danceFeb 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The high school authorities across United States are gearing up to prevent students from indulging in grinding or freak dancing as high school dances come under intense scrutiny. A variety of initiatives are being taken by the school administrators to ensure that ‘dirty’ dance moves are prevented among the students which includes asking the students to sign contracts, indulging in campaigns as well as terminating the dances in schools.

According to reports, school authorities are taking the steps to prohibit sexy dance moves among students as many feel that the sexual nature of the dancing in a number of high schools is on the rise. Meanwhile, authorities in a Michigan school have reportedly terminated a school dance following the refusal of the high school students to sign contracts to prevent them from indulging in freak dancing which is regarded as sexually suggestive by the officials. However, Minnesota based Minnetonka High School undertook a completely different technique to counter students from involving in dirty dancing. Principal of the school, David Adney started a campaign which was given the title “Dance Like Grandma’s Watchin”, with the intention of discouraging students from indulging in offensive dance moves. It has been revealed that the concept behind the campaign is that, even if high school students do not bother about their parents point of view, they surely care about what their grandmother thinks about them.

However, while reacting to the controversy, Ann Forte, New York City Department of Education spokesperson has reiterated that as of now there are no plans of implementing any steps with regard to the high school dances.
