Herschel Sims Featured In “World of Jenks”

Nov 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The popular MTV documentary series, “World of Jenks” has always been a inspiring show that is targeted at the youth. On the season finale, that was aired on Monday night, Herschel Sims appeared on the show. Like every other show eve this was inspiring, not only because of his great success as a running back from Abilene, Texas, but also because of the way he has handled his disturbed personal life.
Every football lover expected that the show would be more sports oriented with the player talking about his experience on and off the field. However, it turned out to be more emotional, that left the player and many of his fans in tears. He talked about his subjection to child abuse by his parents. Right now both his parents are in jail for numerous acts of abuse on their son. He said that once his father had bitten him black and blue with the help of a extension chord. His mother has also been part of the crime, as she did not bother to call up the police and saw his son getting beaten up while tied with a rope. However, he seems to have no grudge against her mother, and wants her to get released soon.
The real climax of the show came when he was playing a game against a Franklington, Louisiana team. Suddenly, his mother showed up just as the match was about to start. “World of Jenks” cameras captured the emotional moment when the two underwent an emotional reunion. He stated on the show that after his high school graduation, he would be playing for the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 2011.
