Hell’s Kitchen: Cooking for the Marines
November 25th, 2010 - 1:06 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonNov 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ began last night, there were five contestants left, who were all to take part in a lunch truck challenge. Each contestant had to run their own lunch truck, and try to not only please their guests with their menu, but also offer hospitality as well. The guests voted on the dishes.
Sixty one percent did not like Russel’s dish. Forty percent preferred Gail. With only five contestants left, these challenges become more and more important. Nona came in second place by only two percent! For winning, Chef Ramsey sent Gail to get her hair done, and new clothing from Kojo. The rest of the contestants seemed to have it out for Gail after her win, and most of them made it clear that they wanted her to go home.
Twelve hungry marines waited as the dinner service started off on the right foot, with everyone communicating, and getting to work right away on the food. But soon Jillian, who had never been on the fish station, feel behind on her scallops. She could not get the timing right, which made the others have to start their dishes all over again.
After 45 minutes into dinner service, the appetizers were finally flowing. Paris Hilton showed up to eat as the contestants began to fall behind again, due to Jillian’s scallops again. The kitchen was stuck in neutral with no food going out. Two hours into dinner service, and Russel had helped Jillian get the fish station under control. Entrees were finally going out. Twelve hungry Marines waited an hour and forty five minutes for their food.
Chef Ramsey got so frustrated that she began to tell everyone he was about to walk out. Gail began to fall behind, and seemed to break down right on the floor as she could not communicate nor get right on the garnish. As everything fell apart, Chef Ramsey left the restaurant as the guests and contestants watched in shock.
But Nona and Russell would not give up. They pushed to show Chef Ramsey that they could do it. Russel continued to send back Travis’s meat, saying that it was overdone, and refusing to serve it. Chef Ramsey soon came back into the kitchen, and took over, changing everyone’s stations, and moving Russell to meats.
Gail and Trevor were both nominated to go home. Chef Ramsey asked Gail if she cared whether or not she went home. She told him that of course she did. When he asked Trevor why he should get to stay, he said that he would not accept that this was the end for him, but Ramsey was quick to point out that it was his decision, not Travis’s. Ultimately, however, Gail was sent home.
