hellboyFans of the “Hellboy” franchise have some good news up their sleeves. It seems like the makers of the tremendously popular superhero flick are not stopping at just “Hellboy II:The Golden Army”, but there are some tentative talks for a third installment of the movie to be in the pipeline. This is what the director of the franchise, Guillermo del Toro had to say when he had been interviewed at the 34th Annual Saturn Awards, that was held in the month of June, in Los Angeles.

He had made it known that the minds behind the action packed adventure had already discussed about a possible third part to be added to the series, in the near future. Even though he had admitted that he is presently busy and engrossed with the filming of the upcoming movie “The Hobbit” (a screen adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkein’s literary work), he would soon like to be involved in another Hellboy project. He had also left it hanging in the air somehow that the part 3 might see the dawn of the day somewhere in 2012, since its predecessors had released within a gap of 4 years apart (”Hellboy” was out in 2004 and “Hellboy II” released in 2008).

Since then however, there has been no further updates on the front, which is a reason for fans to have developed reasons to worry. Del Toro’s assurance comes in handy at this point, when he states, “Don’t tell my family, but I would love to do Hellboy 3 consecutive to the Hobbit.” He draws line on the last one though, saying, “If there was ever a third one, I would really make sure that we at least sign a contract that there is no more.”
