The film, to be directed by Hackford for Capitol Films, also stars actor Joe Pesci.

The story revolves around a couple who open the first legal brothel in Nevada. The pair finds their relationship tested when infidelity seeps into their lives and causes sudden violent outbursts.

Hackford said the drama is inspired by the real life story of Joe and Sally Conforte, proprietors of the Mustang Ranch, the first legalized house of prostitution in Nevada.

‘Love Ranch’ will re-team the director with his wife for the first time since 1985’s “White Nights.”

“I’ve developed this project for a long time, and one of the things that excited me most was the chance to work again with my wife,” Variety quoted Hackford, as saying.

“I had to beg; she’s a very busy girl. We’d wanted to work together for some time, but she wouldn’t agree unless it was a great role, and this is a great role,” he added.

The project, to be scripted by Mark Jacobson, will start filming in late January, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. (ANI)
