Heather Locklear cited for hit and run case but not arrested: Lawyer
April 22nd, 2010 - 5:37 pm ICT by ANINew York, April 22 (ANI): A lawyer for Heather Locklear has confirmed the actress received a citation for a hit and run incident, but is adamant her client was not behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Locklear was reported to have been arrested and cited after failing to alert police about a collision with a post in Westlake Village, California early on Saturday morning.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Department officials responded to calls of a one-vehicle crash and found a car had mounted a curb and knocked over a ‘no parking’ sign.
According to TMZ.com, the investigation led deputies to Locklear’s home nearby and they linked damage to her BMW to the collision.
Locklear’s legal representative, Blair Berk, has clarified reports the actress was involved in a hit-and-run incident, insisting she was not driving the car and was ‘never taken into custody’.
“Ms. Locklear was cited with a misdemeanour traffic ticket as she is the registered owner of the vehicle. She was never taken into custody,” the Daily Express quoted Berk as telling TMZ.com.
“The matter is still being looked into as it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle,” Berk added. (ANI)
