‘Haven’: SyFy’s Latest Offering

July 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The SyFy network has added another new series to the delight of the Sci-Fi fans with ‘Haven’. ‘Haven’ was premired alongside the highly anticipated second season premiere of ‘Eureka’. The story of ‘Haven’ deals with the mysterious town of Haven where a female detective lands up to investigate a murder but finds herself engulfed in its mysteries.
Emily Rose plays the role of an FBI agent named Audrey Parker who visits the town of Haven to investigate the murder of an ex-con. The investigations lead her to discover that the mysterious town hides people with supernatural powers. She also finds her own pat entangled in the mysteries of the town. She is seen partnering with the local cop Nathan Wuornos played by Lucas Grant. Emily Rose said that she found the character of Audrey Parker intriguing because she was not the typical female. She described her as a tough and independent investigator and appreciated the details that the writers had provide the role with.
Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst worked on the Stephen King novella ‘The Colorado Kid’ to write the story for ‘Haven’. They said that the producers had handed them the novels years ago. They said that the novella provided them with the settings of the town and the characters but they had to add to it some of the supernatural stuff to make it suitable for the network. They had then sent the modified story to Stephen king himself for approval and to their relief found him encouraging of the changes.
