24th of April, 2009, was one of the most awaited days for many fans who were desperately waiting for the new Disney Channel Original Movie, “Hatching Pete”. Though the movie was shot in 2008 it has been released just recently in USA. The movie has been already released in Disney Channel UK on 10th April, as the first ever Disney Channel Original Movie that was premiered in UK before getting released in USA.

The film’s protagonist is Pete Ivey, played by Jason Dolley, who is a shy teenager and the film is about how he overcomes his shyness. The film is a thorough entertainer about high school life, sports and cheering. Mitchel Musso plays the role of Cleatus Poole, Pete Ivey’s best friend. While Pete is the shy guy, Poole is outgoing and smart, in fact Poole is also the school mascot.

In the initial part of the movie the plot is motivated by Pete’s interest in Poole’s sister Cammie, whom he wants to ask for a date. However, due to his intrinsic shy nature he fails to convey his feelings and also encounters the blow of getting to know that she already has a boyfriend.

Well, all is not lost for Pete because soon he gets interested in the new girl of their high school cheerleader team, Angela Morrisey played by Josie Loren. To know what happens at the end of the movie, you must watch the movie.

The title of the movie is probably inspired from Pete’s stint as the school mascot, dressed as a chicken, when he tries to help out his friend, Poole. The movie is undoubtedly an entertaining watch for all the teen flick lovers.
