London, Sep 22 (ANI): ‘Baywatch’ star David Hasselhoff, who is fighting rumours of alcohol relapse after he was recently hospitalised, has blamed it on an “equilibrium imbalance” caused by new prescription medication.

Hasselhoff, 57, was reportedly rushed to the hospital on September 20 amid allegations the star was suffering from alcohol poisoning, reports the Daily Express.

According to TMZ.com, the actor’s 17-year-old daughter Hayley discovered her father “extremely drunk” and rang her mother Pamela Bach, whose friend called the emergency services.

Hasselhoff, who was taken to the hospital from his home in Encino, California, blamed his latest health scare on a drug he had been prescribed to treat an ear infection.

A spokesperson said the star suffered an “equilibrium imbalance” when Antivert, which has side effects including drowsiness, dry mouth and blurred vision, reacted with the Antabuse medication he was taking to treat his alcoholism.

The rep added Hasselhoff was voluntarily taken to the hospital for treatment, and released after one hour. (ANI)
