Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Box Office: Crown was its destiny

November 22, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are giving other movies a run for their money as the trio rattle the cash barrels luring thousands of muggles inside the theatres to lap up the latest screen outing by the popular wizards.
Casting its spell on the box office, the 7th instalment of the Harry Potter franchisee has raked in a princely $125.1 million at the opening weekend of US box office thereby nudging past all rivals to claim the number one position. Deathly Hallows had spun such a tremendous frenzy around itself that it had harvested a mammoth $24 million from its midnight screening alone when it was unleashed for the very first time on the night of 18th November.
With $125.1 million in its pocket, Deathly Hallows sits on top in US nudging past its nearest rival ‘Megamind’ which is at 2nd position with approx $16.2 million. Clearly, despite being at the 2nd slot, the animated caper ‘Megamind’ is miles away from the Deathly Hallows in terms of revenue generated.
Helmed by David Yates, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ is the penultimate film based on the 1st half of the final book penned by the renowned JK Rowling. It fabricates the story of Harry, Ron and Hermione who are on-the-run from the Ministry (now in the hands of Lord Voldemort) and are chasing their quest to destroy Horcruxes in order to slay the Dark Lord.
With a humongous opening, we can expect it to rule the box office charts for the next few days.
