Harry Potter Actor’s Killer ConvictedMarch 5th, 2009 - 10:31 pm ICT by GD
According to reports the young man accused of killing 18-year old Robert Knox has been convicted and could face up to life in prison if the London jury finds him guilty. Karl Bishop, 22, who killed the “Harry Potter” actor Knox has had convictions earlier for knife crimes.
Knox played Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in the yet-to-be released “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was stabbed outside a bar in South East London in May 2008. He was trying to protect his younger brother Jamie as Bishop tried to get into the bar with kitchen knives. He stabbed Knox five times, and a knife severed an artery in Knox’s chest which proved fatal later that evening.
Knox had finished filming his role in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and was signed on to star in the seventh and final film from the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
In court Knox’s mother, Sally, said, “As a mother and parent, I can never forgive the person responsible for taking my son Robert’s life, or the devastation that has been caused by these actions.”
Later his father Colin said, “Living my life without my son in it is like having a daily nightmare. Those people that have nightmares will wake up in the morning and say, ‘Thank God it was only a nightmare,’ and their life returns to normal. The opposite is my new way of life. I live my nightmare daily … I miss him so much it breaks my heart. All I have are memories to remember him by.”
