July 22nd, 2009 - 2:00 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, July 22 (ANI): Harry Potter actor Jamie Waylett has escaped jail term for growing cannabis in his bedroom.
City of Westminster Magistrates Court has sentenced him to 120 hours of unpaid community work, reports the Daily Express.
Waylett, who plays Hogwarts school bully Vincent Crabbe, was arrested under anti-terror laws after he took a photo of a police patrol near Parliament in April.
Police found pictures of cannabis plants on his mobile phone.
When they raided the flat he shares with his mum in Kilburn, North London, the cops discovered ten cannabis plants growing inside two tents in his bedroom.
Waylett’s lawyer Cheryl Rudden urged the court not to “make an example of him” and “wreck his career.” (ANI)
