Los Angeles, Jan 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) He was rumored to be a judge on the blockbuster reality show, “American Idol” but nothing was heard again.

So when reporters had the chance to speak with Harry Connick Jr. recently in Pasadena at the biannual Television Critics Association, they put that issue right in his face.

Connick admitted to the reporters that he was also left in the dark just like most of the fans that heard the news. He said that after serving as a mentor on the show for so long, he was approached by the producers of the show whether he was interested in becoming a member of the panel of judges. Which musician would not want such a position? He said yes and preliminary talks began.

Connick however said that that was about it. He heard nothing else about the position and the negotiations just “fizzled” just as quickly as it has started.

He however added that he was not so much disappointed because he had his hands full with other things when the incident happened. He said that he had acting schedules and his musical career to keep him busy after the Idol snub.
