Washington, Apr 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hollywood star Kal Penn was reportedly robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday at round 1:20 a.m. The incident has been confirmed by Jennifer Goodwin, the agent of Kal Penn who mentioned that the star was robbed on early Tuesday morning. The D.C police confirmed that the robbery took place on the 1500 block of S Street to EW. Reports claim that the first robber walked up to the star and asked him to hand over all his belongings. Another suspected robber then joined the first in the process. Kal Penn was forced to lie on the ground by the culprits and was robbed of his cell phone and wallet along with other belongings. The “Harold and Kumar” star was unavailable for comment on the issue and the Metropolitan Police Department has not issued any public statement.

According to reports, a Washington D.C police official has revealed to the media on the condition of anonymity that the robbery of the star is nothing but a kind of “basic street robbery”. He also mentioned to the media source that the robber had looted Kal Penn of his wallet and other possessions. The D.C police department according to reports does not reveal or discuss the details of the victim to any outsider in general.

The Indian-American star’s actual name is Kalpen Suresh Modi. He holds the position of the Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement and connects the President to the Asian-American and the Pacific community along with the art fraternity. Kal Penn who left his role in the TV Series “House” for the White House is scheduled to return to the show later this year.
