‘Harold and Kumar’ Star Kal Penn Mugged
April 21st, 2010 - 9:15 pm ICT by Pen Men At Work
April 21, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Kal Penn, well-known for his portrayal of Kumar, in the comedy film ‘Harold & Kumar’, was held up at gunpoint early on Tuesday morning in Washington. One can’t help but notice the sarcasm that the date of Penn’s robbery coincided with the ‘National Weed Day’ for marijuana activists. Penn was one half of the stoner duo in the film ‘Harold & Kumar’.
Penn was approached by an anonymous male carrying a gun around 1:20 a.m. The nameless male took away Penn’s wallet and other belongings.
In April 2009, it was enunciated that Penn would join the Obama White House as an Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement. His concentration was to be on connecting President Barack Obama with the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Penn was also an advocate for Obama’s presidential campaign.
His character, Lawrence Kutner, was written out of the TV series House due to his job at the White House. Penn made headlines earlier this month when information circulated that he was leaving White House to return to Hollywood.
As an actor, Penn is also known for his roles on the television programs House and 24. He also educated at the University of Pennsylvania as a visiting lecturer in the Cinema Studies Program.
