Los Angeles, Feb 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It has been 13 years now since singer Kurt Cobain died. The singer died at the early age of 27 and he would have been 42 today, if he was still alive.

On the occasion of what would have been his 42nd birthday, fans and music lovers all over the world are celebrating the life of the music legend. Kurt struggled with the way that he handled the fame that he achieved in his lifetime. His troubled life was cut short on the 5th of April when he took his own life.

He struggled with drug addiction at a point in his life. That did not stop him from becoming the toast of the fans and of the many people that listened to his music. He is credited with influencing the way that hip hop and other kinds of music are played in the United States currently.

He formed the Nirvana band back in 1985. The band since its formation managed to sell more than twenty-five million albums throughout the United States and the number of albums sold worldwide is estimated to have surpassed the 50 million mark.

He was married to Courtney Love.
