Justin BarthaJan 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Justin Bartha, who blazed the big screen with the massive hit comedy “Hangover,” is about to make a crossover to the theater. Apparently, he has been chosen to play a role in the upcoming Broadway venture “Lend Me A Tenor,” which is actually a remake of the 1989 comedy of the same name. Originally, the role that Justin Bartha has been offered was slated to be played by T.R.Knight. After the actor could not participate in the project, the producers of the play approached Justin Bartha for the role.

In the play, Justin Bartha plays the role of an assistant, Max, to the general manager of the Cleveland Opera House. His character is rather a woe-begone and timid one, who, during the production of the play “Othello,” has to go on stage as an actor, as the person supposed to play that part goes off into a drugged sleep. The play is based on the backdrop of the 1930’s. The report has not yet been confirmed by the representatives of the production company. On the other hand, the reports seem to be founded enough, given that his picture and name has been registered along with the rest of the cast members.

“Lend Me A Tenor” is going to be directed by Stanley Tucci. Along with Justin Bartha, the play boasts a number of well known personalities both from theater and films, like Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jay Klaitz, Brooke Adams, Jan Maxwell and Jennifer Laura Thompson. The play, when it originally opened in 1989, ran to huge success, and also was the winner of two Tony Awards, and was nominated for 7 categories.
