May 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A rep for Halle Berry released a statement of Saturday which confirmed that the actress has split from Gabriel Aubry. As a matter of fact the couple was said to have called it quits some time ago, although it had not been revealed. “Berry and Aubry split some time ago,” her rep tells UsMagazine.com, “but remain close friends and committed parents to their daughter.”

Halle Berry who is 43 years old, and Gabriel Aubry, who is 34 met in 2006 at a Versace photo shoot. They never married, but had a daughter, Nala, who was born in 2008. Aubry was the first to acknowledge that the two were no longer together, on Saturday when he stated, “[Halle] is, and will forever be one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to love and respect for one another.”

Halle Berry does not seem to be too disheartened by the separation. She was seen out and about in New York City over the weekend and according to reports, she “seemed cheerful.” In an interview which was given at a charity event by Berry to US Magazine on Thursday, the actress stated that Nala is ‘terrific’. Berry went to see her friend, Denzel Washington preform at the Broadway show “Fences” on Friday and was cheering along with thousands of others at EIF’s Revlon Run/Walk for Women event for breast cancer in Times Square, after which she was said to have eaten a cheeseburger for lunch with a female friend at the RUE 57 eatery. An observer told US Magazine that Berry was in good spirits during the meal.
