London, Nov 21 (IANS) Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, who has previously spoken about the abuse she and her mother suffered at the hands of their partners, is proud of singer Rihanna for coming out of her troubled relationship.
“Umbrella” hitmaker singer Rihanna had ended her relationship with Chris Brown after he assaulted her in February.

“Any time a woman frees herself from that kind of bondage and that kind of situation I am proud of that person,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Berry as saying.

Berry had recently admitted she used to be attracted to abusive men because she regularly saw her father attacking her mother when she was growing up.

“My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it. Early on in my life, I made choices and I chose men who were abusive because that was what I knew growing up,” she explained.
