hallMay 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hall and Oates was one of the guest performers in the finale episode of the “American Idol,” which was aired on Wednesday, May 26. The episode was based on the theme of the earlier episodes of the show, that is, it brought back together, on the same stage, the artists who had performed earlier in the other episodes of the show. Accordingly, the episode saw the likes of Bret Michaels, fresh out of the hospital, and to be back again, along with Michael McDonald and Michael Lynche, Alice Cooper, Christina Augilera, the Bee Gees and even Hall and Oates.

Needless to say, the audience had the time of their lives during the broadcast of the finale episode of “American Idol.” Hall and Oates, comprising Daryl Hal and John Oates, sang three songs in all, “Maneater,” “You Make My Dreams Come True” and “I Can’t Go For That.” In all of the songs, they wee joined in by the top six male contestants of the show, keeping with the format of the episode, that is, the contestants began to sing a song, and was later joined in by the original singer.

Daryl Hall and John Oates went on to light up the stage with their performance. In fact, theirs was one of the few performances that the critics praised unanimously. What was very noticeable about their performance that their voices sounded so perfect. In fact, so perfect, that at times it seemed as though it was a recorded version playing on stage, although it was all live. At the end of their performance, the audience was left clapping hard, as were the judges. Of course, the contestants too added their own bit to the song, making it all the more enjoyable.
