London, March 26 (IANS) Swedish pop group Abba could reunite for a one-off performance, two of its members were quoted saying Friday.
After dismissing the prospects of a reunion for many years, Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus offered “a beguiling change of tone” in an interview with Times, the newspaper reported.

Asked if they would consider an intimate one-off performance - perhaps with an orchestra - that could be beamed around the world, Andersson replied: “Yeah, why not?”

He added: “I don’t know if the girls sing anything any more. I know Frida [Anni-Frid Lyngstad] was in the studio.”

He added a little later: “It’s not a bad idea, actually.”

“We could sing The Way Old Folks Do,” said Ulvaeus in a reference to a song by the best-selling band which broke up in 1982.

Of the two female members of the band, Lyngstad is married to a German nobleman and is a princess while Agnetha Faltskog lived as a virtual recluse on a remote Swedish island, the newspaper said.

Ulvaeus and Andersson were in London to promote their new musical, Kristina, which opens April 14.
