October 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): While most of us are well acquainted with the term ‘casting couch’ and also know of its existence in the entertainment world, little did anyone expect that Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow was also one of its victims! In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she had been asked to bed a filmmaker in lieu of the role, which she bagged in his film. And of course, Gwyneth Paltrow instantly refused to accept such an offer. The incident took place in the beginning of her career in Hollywood, says the 38-year-old Oscar winning actress.

Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in the interview that she was totally taken aback when the man asked her to visit him in his bedroom after the meeting ends, the intention being very clear -he wanted to sleep with her. The actress, however, refused to reveal the name of the man she was talking about. This incident, though, is a thing of the past still disturbs Gwyneth Paltrow these days. The mother of one has taken a break from acting after the birth of her son, but finds that films do not provide any more challenging roles these days, especially for an actress of her age. The actress says that she envies actresses like Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock because they continue to do such a lot of wonderful work. 

Her fans remember Gwyneth Paltrow from her first break in Hollywood, the Peter Pan movie “Hook”, in which she portrayed the role of a young woman named Wendy.
