Los Angeles, Oct 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The British director Guy Ritchie, who got divorced from Madonna last year in November after 8 years of marriage, says that he is still in love with her. A year after Madonna called him “emotionally retarded,” former husband Guy Ritchie said in an Esquire magazine interview that hit the Web on Wednesday that he still loves her, but that she is “retarded” herself.

The 41 year-old British director said Madonna “makes things happen” and works hard at her career.

“And, of course, here you go: I still love her,” Ritchie told the magazine. “But she’s retarded, too.”

“You can’t tell someone when they’re getting divorced that their pain is an illusion. I’m f***ing telling you, I feel it. I’ve been through that… No one can say you don’t feel that.”

Discussing their decision to live in London, Guy revealed: “Madonna, when she came to the UK, it was old-school London. No one bothered her. ‘Hello, darling. How are you, darling? What can we get you?’ It was fundamental, old school. It didn’t matter who she was. She was my wife.”

The couple has a 9 year-old son together, and they also adopted a boy from Malawi, when they were together in marriage.
