Jan 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Now that Dr. Shepherd (aka McDreamy) knows that the chief has a drinking problem and threatens to expose him to the board, Grey makes him promise he won’t. Derek speaks to the chief hopeful to get some answers, but gets nowhere with him.

Izzie is back when she finds out that her husband Dr. Karev is in the process of moving on. Before she enters the house Meredith finds Alex in bed with Lexi and tells them Izzie is on her way home. In a panic she tells them to not say a word about what they just did, it is to be their secret.

A crucial surgery forces the Chief Dr. Webber to make a decision on who will perform the surgery with him, someone who can cover his back since he has been absent from doing surgery’s for so long. His decision on who performs the surgery with him has Dr. Bailey and Derek uncomfortable. Derek goes into the chief’s office and pours the chief a drink, telling him he knows he wants the drink and is betting that one drink was not the first of his day. Leaving the alcoholic drink on the desk Derek walks out.

As Grey preps for surgery with Dr. Webber, Bailey enters and announces that the chief will not be performing the surgery today she will. Dr. Miranda Bailey tells Grey she is not ready to perform such a complex surgery so Grey will only be assisting Bailey instead. After surgery Meredith talks to Derek and discovers that Derek said something to Dr. Webber and Derek is asking Meredith to help him. When she refuses, Derek tells he Izzie would get her job back. After taking time to think about it Grey tells Derek to talk to the board about the chief.
