Green Day Musical At Grammy Awards 2010

greenLos Angeles, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 52nd Grammy Awards held on Sunday, January 31 was absolutely a treat for the viewers with so many stars performing brilliantly. “Green Day’s” performance kept the viewers hooked to their seats. “Green Day” presented to the world a musical which was based on the album “American Idiot” of the year 2004. The “Broadway” musicians of “American Idiot” performed along with “Green Day” on the band’s twice nominated number, “21 Guns” on the occasion. The 52nd Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles was broadcast on CBS Television Network from 8 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. (ET/PT). Earlier on December 22, 2009 a new version of the smash hit single “21 Guns” performed by “American Idiot” and “Green Day” and produced by Billie Joe Armstrong was released by Reprise Records.

“American Idiot” talks about a struggle of the young Americans in order to find meaning of life in a world devastated by 9/11 with a cool blend of “Green Day’s” electrifying music. On the evening the musical narrated stories of love, war, loss. Apart from “American Idiot” it even included “21st Century Breakdown” as well as a non released tune, “When It’s Time.’

Among the various awards that were presented, “Green Day” who performed with the cast of “American Idiot” earlier in that evening, bagged the Best Rock Album award. Apart from “Green Day” the “Black Eyed Peas” were amazing while performing “Imma Be.” When they sang “I Gotta Feeling” with a host of dancers accompanying them, the fans applauded. The evening had various other surprises and touchy moments including the one when Michael Jackson’s kids received an award on his behalf.
