lilwayne_display_imageFeb 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Controversial rapper Lil Wayne has hogged the headlines once again, this time for his song “Green and Yellow”. The title of the song completely proves his support for the Green Bay Packers and so does the lyrics of the song. On that note, many people are wondering, why he supports the Packers, despite hailing from New Orleans himself. Many of them think that the rapper is being disloyal to his own native team, the New Orleans Saints.

The rapper said that many of the New Orleans Saints fans are quite offended with him, as they did not expect him to support another team. However he confirmed that despite hailing from New Orleans, he was never a fan of that team. Lil Wayne also said that the Packers player like Ryan Grant is extremely thankful to him and said that they needed a boost like that. Yet, players from Steelers like Ike Taylor, is upset. Reportedly, Lil Wayne and Ike Taylor went to the same high school together, and therefore the latter did not like his act of opposing the Steelers. In an interview he said that he was inspired to write “Green And Yellow” after watching an interview, where the Steelers fans were yelling “Black And Yellow”, their unofficial anthem, created by Wiz Khalifa last year. He thought that this would be the perfect time to land a counteract. Reportedly, he wrote this song on that same night and is now happy for going “viral with it”.

Lil Wayne further said that he is a “cheese head” and a big time packers fans. On that note, he was unable to see his favorite team without an unofficial anthem. He also added that his fascination for the Packers dates back to his childhood, when his late father went to see the Super Bowl in 1997. He brought back a number of Packers goodies like towels, cups, dishes etc. He still remembers using them to become a Packers loyalist for ever. Moreover, New Orleans has been terrible for quite sometime, and are not in the Super Bowl.
