Is your film “Aseema’ based on a novel?

Yes, the film is based on the widely acclaimed Oriya novel “Aseema’, written by noted Oriya poet/author/novelist Mrs. Sailaja Kumari Aparajita Mohanty. “Aseema’ is produced by Kabi Mohanty and directed by Sisir P. Mishra, with Shamir Tandon who has scored the soulful music of “Aseema’. It is a heartwarming story based in Orissa of the eighties and nineties.

Tell us about your character “Aseema’

The film is based on the central character “Aseema’ who fights to have her own identity in the society and the manner in which she wins over all obstacles and believes in living her life with honor and dignity.

Do you think the audience will appreciate this film?

Definitely, the film will be appreciated by audience because it shows a beautiful love story along with the struggle of a woman in the society.

Don’t you think the film will be too serious without much entertainment?

Not really, I must say the film is quite entertaining and also it sends out a message to the society.

What made you sign up this film?

I loved the script, the story is fascinating other than that the character of “Aseema’ was quite challenging for me. The role of “Aseema’ portrays all 3 stages of woman’s life and I was lucky to play such a character, as its bold character.

How was it working with director Sisir Mishra?

It was an exhilarating experience working with him. The way he has directed this movie will surely touch each and everyone’s heart and I’m not saying this because I worked in it, you’ll be able the feel it once you watch it. Sisir Mishra has also directed well-known sensitive subjects previously like the classics of the eighties; “Bheegi Palkein’ (starring Smita Patil) and “Samay ki Dhara’ (starring Shabana Azmi).
