That is the reason why many of them gathered on one platform to pay a tribute to the army servicemen, who work for the nation and fights undauntedly for its safety. “VH1 Divas Salute the Troops” was a show of a kind, that paid an ode to these people. The divas performed at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.

However, it was not only the music stars but also several other important personalities, who studded the event. First Lady Michelle Obama, comedian Jeffrey Ross, Kathy Griffin, MC Lyte and Brandy were also present in the event. The show was organized by MTV. The show witnessed some of the great performances by the new age stars. Katy Perry sang her ever popular “Fire Works”, to emerge as the most popular singer once again. Grace Potter and the Nocturnal, along with the Heart, consisting of Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson set the stage on fire and drove the audience crazy. These two groups performed together on a few of their biggest hits like “Crazy” and “Paris (Ooh La La).”
The performances were in front of a large troop in an air hangar. The servicemen were extremely overwhelmed with the tribute which was dedicated to them through music. This was for the first time that the troops were paid an ode in such a high spirited way, through popular music.
