david4Sep 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A big surprise for the fans of ‘Saturday Night Live’ came on Saturday as Fred Armisen’s favorite target, the New York governor himself, appeared on the show. Governor David Paterson appeared on the show in the segment ‘Weekend Updates’. He interrupted the comedian who was dressed like him and spoke about the show and some of the humor that he did not approve of. In another segment of the show, Senate hopeful Christine O’Donnell was mocked by the comedians.

The Governor of New York, David Paterson said that though the show was funny there were some jokes on the handicapped that he found stupid. He said that it was sophomoric to mock those who cannot fight back. He also compared the show to his governorship and said that it was funny only in the first ten minutes. The governor has been the butt of jokes and skits on ‘SNL’ for years and though there were rumors floating around about him appearing on the show, only a few could have predicted that he would come in a segment where he was being impersonated by Fred Armisen.

In the skit, Fred Armisen portrayed Governor David Paterson as a clueless blind man with a history of womanizing and drug abuse. In an earlier skit there was a direct joke on the blindness of the governor, as Fred Armisen held up a chart showing joblessness in the state upside down. Fans of ‘SNL’ have a lot to look forward to in the next weekend as the gorgeous pop star Katy Perry will be making an appearance. The pop icon’s video was recently banned from ‘Sesame Street’ as the parents found her dress too revealing.
