June 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is official. Actress Joanna Garcia, famous for her roles in the CW television network’s “Gossip Girl” is engaged to baseball star Nick Swisher. The New York Yankee had been all praise for the actress ever since both started dating. It was the 29 year old baseball player who had initially come out in the open about their relationship while speaking to Jimmy Fallon on his talk show. It was in the month of September last year that he had referred to Joanna Garcia as “amazing” and later spoke to the Sports Illustrated about the relationship that the two were sharing. Nothing however had been confirmed from the actress’s side back then.

Joanna Garcia’s engagement with Nick Swisher is not the first instance of a Yankee being paired with a Hollywood celebrity. Derek Jeter has been into a relationship with actress Minka Kelly. Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz are also rumored to be seeing each other.

Joanna Garcia has been a popular face in “Gossip Girl”, “Privileged” and “Reba” to name a few. The actress has not been seen on television screens for a long time. Now that the news of the 30 year old actress dating the 29 year old baseball player has been confirmed, she is expected to return to our television sets in ABC network’s “Better Together”. According to the reports, it was Nick Swisher who first popped up the question, the couple had wanted to keep their engagement a secret for a very long time but failed to do so in the end. Joanna Garcia was spotted at the side of her boyfriend during last November’s Yankee parade.
