Gordon Ramsay stretchered off the field after a tackle from Teddy Sheringham at Soccer Aid

Manchester, May 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Just 5 minutes after the start of the Soccer Aid, a charity match to raise funds for Unicef, the former England footballer Teddy Sheringham tackled Gordon Ramsay, which stretchered him off the field.

Ramsay, one of the world’s best known TV chefs, used to play for the football club Glasgow Rangers. He had to be given oxygen by paramedics, during the match, which took place at Manchester’s Old Trafford last Sunday.

The chef was taken to hospital for further treatment on his back, which was injured because of the tackle. He was released later on Sunday evening.

A spokesman for the chef stated that there should not be any long-term damage.

Hollywood star Will Ferrell was also injured during the match. He had to leave Old Trafford’s field after suffering a leg injury late in the second half of the charity match.

Gordon James Ramsay rose to fame after becoming the host of a number of several TV programmes about food, including Hell’s Kitchen UK, Hell’s Kitchen US, The F Word, Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Kitchen Nightmares US, and MasterChef US.
