San Jose, Jan 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Seems Gordon Ramsay wanted to investigate shark finning and he got one of the scariest moments in his life when he was doused in fuel and held at gun point.

The British celebrity chef was in Costa Rica. His mission? To investigate alleged illegal trade in shark fins in that country. The investigation was part of an upcoming TV series to air pretty soon.

Fortunately, he lived to talk about the incident. When he got back to England, he spoke to the UK Telegraph. He revealed that he chanced upon stockpile of shark fins in Costa Rica on the top of a roof.

He and his crew however couldn’t get to the fins because those assigned to protect the fins prevented them. Ramsay said that he later managed to sneak to the fins.

Ramsay was not aware that they were waiting for him downstairs so when he got down, they threw the fuel on him and held him on gunpoint. He however managed to run to his car and the crew sped off.

The trip though was not fruitless because the crew managed to sneak into the ship that brings the illegal fins out of the sea.
