djOct. 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Adam Goldstein aka DJ Am, the spinner who had reached celebrity status, had shot a documentary with his family and friends in which he filmed his, along with others’, attempts, to help people with drug problems and also bring them back in the right track. Ironically, he himself died in August, apparently of an accidental drug overdose. He was 36.

The reality show that Am shot, appropriately named “Gone Too Far“, was done in six episodes. His family had given MTV the permission to go ahead and broadcast the show, despite the fact that Am died less than a month agp. The show started to be aired on MTV on Oct. 12.

According to MTV, the documentary chronicles the DJ and his family meeting and interacting with young drug abusers who are struggling back into sobriety. Filming he documentary was no doubt a very personal experience for the spinner, given that he was an addict too and had stayed sober for eleven years. In the documentary, the DJ also uses his own experiences to help the victims of drug abuse.

In the show, Am talks candidly about the years he spent being high on drugs and alcohol. He says very frankly that the drugs made him paranoid an made him behave strangely. It had once also led him to attempt suicide, but he survived as the pistol jammed. He admits that he is allergic to alcohol and drugs as they make him act “dumb.”

Adam’s family allowed the channel to air the show because they felt that it would inspire others to stay, or return, to the right track.
