Golden Globe Winners: ‘Glee’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Score Big

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards has been declared and in the TV category ‘Glee’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ have earned the maximum laurels. Both the shows have won multiple awards at the prestigious event.

HBO’s prohibition drama ‘Boardwalk Empire’ raked in the trophy of Best Drama award. One of its lead stars actor Steve Buscemi nudged past the likes of Jon Hamm (of ‘Mad Men’ fame) and Dexter’s Michael Hall to bag the TV Drama lead actor trophy.

Katey Sagal of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ won the TV Drama lead actress award edging past her rival nominees. She saw off competition from Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) and Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) to win the coveted trophy.

The TV comedy category was swept by ‘Glee’ that won the Best TV Series (Musical or Comedy) award. Glee’s actors Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch conquered the Best Supporting Actor/Actress in TV series.

The Big C’s Laura Linney won the Best Actress, Musical or Comedy award while The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons took home the Best Actor, Musical or Comedy trophy.

In the miniseries category, ‘Carlos’ won the Best Miniseries or Made-for-TV award. Claire Danes was bestowed the Best Actress award for her sublime performance in Temple Grandin while actor Al Pacino was honoured with the Best Actor award for his rendition of Jack Kevorkian in You Don’t Know Jack.
