Golden Globe Awards Faces A Lawsuit Over Allegations Of Fraud

Golden Globe Awards (GGA) has attained unpleasant publicity just before its 68th yearly ceremony, which is listed to take place on January 16. Cinepoint Productions (CP), which is a public relations company, has asserted that it has executed publicity work for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) for around 17 years. CP has, however, initiated a court case against the HFPA in the LA County’s Superior Court on January 13.
In the court case, CP has alleged that the HFPA has not adhered to its pledge and has perpetrated fraud. The CP has voiced that it was guaranteed that, when its agreement with the HFPA ran out in 2009, it would be revitalized. CP perpetrated mammoth hard work depending on that guarantee. In keeping with TMZ, the CP has vocalized that the HFPA never satisfied that guarantee as the deal of CP has not been reenergized.
CP has verbalized that it transported the GGA from insignificance to eminence, with the CP demanding $2 million, which is the amount it would have acquired had the contract with the HFPA been formalized again. The CP has also sought disciplinary compensation. HFPA has not discharged any observation on this matter yet.
The CP has remarked that it formalized a pact for the GGA worth $26 million with NBC, which will be initiated in January 2012.
The GGAs will be arranged on January 16 at Beverly Hilton Hotel located in Los Angeles. Ricky Gervais will be the host of the program for the second time while Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron and Justin Bieber, along with numerous other A-list celebrities, have been requested to present the honors.
Meanwhile, Gervais has revealed to the TV host, Ellen DeGeneres, that Sunday’s GGA will be his most outrageous hosting hitherto with actor Charlie Sheen, his main target. Gervais has voiced sarcastically that he was disillusioned on being requested to host the GGAs again as he deemed that his shocking performance as host in 2010 would have rendered him unqualified to host the GGAs in the future. Gervais has expressed that he will make preparation in 2011 with Sheen’s crazy activities making him a sitting duck.
