Go-Go’s Cancel Their Summer Tour

go-go The Go-Go’s have canceled their summer tour “Happily Ever After” including their local dates, after their guitarist Jane Wiedlin injured her knee during a 20-foot fall while in Northern California last month. As per reports the publicist of The Go-Go’s Jenny Bendel confirmed the news, Jane Wiedlin have ACL surgery and it will take her a year to recover, as it was posted in her website.

The summer tour included a stop in Portsmouth. This was supposed to be the band’s summer farewell tour but last Thursday the group canceled all the summer dates of their “Happily Ever After” tour which included a July 14 show at the Wireless Pavilion in Portsmouth. The tickets will also be returned for the show as per reports. The Tampa Bay Ray’s post game concert of The Go-Go’s scheduled for July 10 and also Lilith Fair kick-off in San Diego on July 7 concerts are also reported to be canceled.

Go-Go’s will not be able to perform live on ‘Good Morning America’ scheduled for July 16 in New York’s Central Park according to reports. The fans of Go-Go’s will have to wait to see their favorite band playing. Reports say that the band issued a formal statement where they mentioned about Jane Wiedlin’s injury as the reason for cancellation of the tour with deep regret.

The Go-Go’s are a female American rock band formed in the year 1978. They made history as the first all-female rock band who wrote their own songs and played their own instruments and topped the “Billboard” album charts. The Go-Go’s featured Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Gina Schock.

The hits of the band which rocked the charts are “Our Lips Are Sealed”, “We Got The Beat”, “Vacation” etc.
