October 25, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): India has been a favorite place for many Hollywood celebrities and they develop a great respect for the values and cultures. The latest in this line is American singer and actress Katy Perry, who tied the knot on Saturday in India with her beau actor Russell Brand.

The couple had chosen the royal Indian state Rajasthan for their big day. Katy and Brand took the wedding vows at Ranthambhore resort as per the Hindu rituals. By Friday, the resort was almost converted to a fortress for the grand occasion.

The wedding of the celebrities took place in presence of other celebrities like Jonathan Ross, David Walliams and Rihanna.

A source was quoted saying that the palace at Ranthambhore has been virtually bought by the couple. It has been decorated with lots of flowers. The wedding invitations were enabled for electronic swipe for the guests and a three level security had been arranged for the safety reasons. The guest list includes around 80 people.

The source further added that the guests and other people were given identity cards for the occasion. All the vendors and the members had to deposit their mobile phones at the entrance with the security.

Perry is finally settling sown with Brand after dating her former beau Gym Class Heroes front man Travie McCoy off and on for a long time. She met Brand in September 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards. Brand was the host of the event.

The 35-year-old actor proposed her in India outside the Taj Mahal during a romantic holiday in last December. The couple reached Mumbai earlier this week and Perry had covered her face to maintain the secrecy.
