July 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) While speaking to a crowd of about 6000 people during his “American Revival” tour in Salt Lake City Utah on Saturday, Glenn Beck tearfully gave some disturbing news. The ‘FOX News’ host shared with his audience that his doctor told him he may be going blind due to a condition called macular dystrophy, a rare genetic disorder that causes a progressive loss of vision.

“A couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor because of my eyes, I can’t focus my eyes…he did all kinds of tests and he said, ‘you have macular dystrophy …you could go blind in the next year. Or, you might not.’ I said, did you just charge me a thousand dollars for knowing what I knew my whole life?” (‘Huffington Post’)

As the onlookers cheered and laughed at his brave jokes, Beck went on to make his point about the less than satisfactory health care reform which was recently made into law, “I went to the best doctor I could find, while I could still go to the best doctor I can find.”

As Beck spoke about losing his sight, he choked up a few times. He stated that although he doesn’t want to lose the ability to see his wife and children, he at least already knows what they look like. His biggest fear is not being able to read…because, in his words, “I thought to myself in that time, ‘I’m too darn lazy to learn Braille.’” See the video below of Glenn speaking of his condition.
