Los Angeles, Feb 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pop and country singer Glen Campbell gave his final performance at the Grammys last Sunday. The singer has been on a “goodbye tour” ever since he was diagnosed of Alzheimer’s disease last year.

The Band Perry and Blake Shelton joined the ace singer on stage for the performance which earned him standing ovation. There was a visible sign of the effect of the disease as Campbell fumbled some of the lyrics of the sound during the performance of the song “Rhinestone Cowboy.” The audience however gave him all the necessary support

Campbell is one of the most celebrated performers of his generation. In the 1970s, he came up with series of hit tracks and that earned him prominence. Campbell released his last album in 2011 and announced that it will be his final project.

During the Grammys, Campbell was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the development of music.

The last Grammys saw British singer Adele relaunched her career at the Grammys. She picked six awards and received a standing ovation for the performance on the night. Other performers on the night included Rihanna and Chris Brown.
