Glee, True Blood, And Modern Family Nominated At 22nd GLAAD Media Awards

The 22nd GLAAD Media Awards has announced nominations for this year. Like every year, the awards event has got nominations from different categories like movies, television and other media outlets.
It represents the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the 22nd annual ceremony will be held on 19th March in New York City, 16th April in Los Angeles and on 14th May in San Francisco.
Among the television programmes, some renowned names like ‘True Blood’, ‘Glee’ and ‘Modern Family’ have got nominated this year. We have the open gay character Kurt, played by Chris Colfer in ‘Glee’. He deals with constant bullying from peers because of his orientation. Despite all these bullying, Kurt has always remained the way he wants to be.
‘Modern Family’, the popular hit show of ABC also features a gay couple Cameron and Mitchell. This couple live together and also has a adopted baby.
One of the main characters of ‘True Blood’ is also a gay character named Lafayette Reynolds. He is a close friend of Sookie and an employee of Merlotte’s.
Apart from these television shows, the nomination list includes the films like The Kids Are All Right and Burlesque. A CNN report on gay teen suicides and Oprah Winfrey’s television interview with Ricky Martin has also got nominations in 22nd GLAAD Awards.
