“Glee” To Do An Episode On Britney Spears

britney_spears July 28, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): ‘Glee’ is all set to pay a unique tribute to the ‘pop princess’ Britney Spears. The entire cast of the show along with their creator Ryan Murphy was present at the comic con in San Diego on the 25th of July, this Sunday. Ryan revealed his future plans about doing a special Britney episode for the show.

He said that have planned to do six Britney songs apart from another Britney song by Brittany played by Heather Morris. The episode is expected to hit the air on 28th September and Ryan described the entire show as being totally hallucinogenic. It will also be a fun way of paying our respects to the legendary pop singer, he acknowledged.

The cast will have the script in their hands by the 26th of July. The episode is expected to be titled Britney/Brittany and will begin their shoot from Wednesday.

Mathew Morrison, one of the stars in ‘Glee’ had reportedly said that the Britney Spears episode was just a rumor. He said while speaking to the US Weekly, that it had been the brainwave of her manager to spread the rumor. EW.com now reports that the character played by Morrison is going to echo the similar sentiments in the episode too. In fact, Schuester will be saying, “I don’t want to do Britney,” over and over again.

TVGuide.com reports that ‘Glee’ will make its return to television on 21st September, this year. The second episode is expected to be the special one featuring the songs of Britney Spears.

Britney had made an apparently innocent remark when she tweeted last week saying that she was watching ‘Glee’ on Fox. Will she be appearing in the ‘Glee’ show then? “I can’t say,” stated Murphy. He jokingly referred to his comment as terrible as it was likely to give rise to a 1000 more stories.
