New York City, Feb 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Several reports indicate that ‘Glee’ star Lea Michelle is lobbying very hard to be part of the Broadway remake of ‘Funny Girl’.

The reports suggest that the actress is lobbying aggressively for the role. The role that Michelle is seeking was once played successfully by Barbra Streisand. The success of the musical won it an Oscar.

A source associated with the report said that, “She’s pushing them hard. She’s telling anyone who will listen how badly she wants the role of Fanny Brice.”

Michelle has reportedly met with Streisand on the challenge of playing the role. She needs to because Streisand played the role so well that it would be a huge challenge for any person seeking to play the role.

Michelle tweeted that she was approached by Streisand during the Grammys last Sunday.

The tweet said “As if this night at the Grammys wasn’t amazing enough…at the valet Barbra Streisand came up to me. I can barely breathe.”

The 24-year-old sang “Don’t Rain on My Parade” during the Tony Awards in 2010. The performance was seen by many as an unofficial audition for the role that she seeks to play in “Funny Girl”.
