The photos which were published by GQ magazine has been at the receiving end of extensive criticism from angry commentators who feel the pictures go against the basic theme of the TV musical.

Despite the fact that all the three “Glee” stars Lea Michele (Rachel) and Dianna Agron (Quinn) as well as Cory Monteith (Finn) are in their twenties, the racy pictures have left members of Parents Television Council rather outraged who have emphasized that the controversial photos ‘border on pedophilia’. According to Parents Television Council, the magazine is ’sexualising the actresses’ who edge the characters of high school students in “Glee” and the racy pictures are just examples of ‘overt sexualisation of young girls in entertainment.’ Broadcaster Katie Couric had also voiced her ire for the photos saying that the snaps are “raunchy” and “un-Glee-like” while adding that she is indeed disappointed with the risque images.

Since the pictures have sparked such a huge controversy, actress Dianna Agron addressed the matter through a post in her blog in which she offered her apology to those who have been offended by the pictures. At the same time, the actress also emphasized that the pictures do not represent her as a person while adding the photoshoot showed heightened versions of the school characters.
